Arnaud Lyon-Caen has been an avocat at the Paris Bar since 1951. He obtained French diplomas (DES) in public and private law and graduated first in his year from the Paris Law Faculty. He won a prestigious Paris Bar prize for debating in 1956 (premier secrétaire de la conférence du stage) and has since 1957 been entitled to represent his clients before the Conseil d'Etat and the Cour de Cassation.

He founded the firm in 1978, together with Françoise Fabiani and Louis Liard. They were joined by Frédéric Thiriez in 1990.

He is a former member of the French Bar Council for Conseil d'Etat and Cour de Cassation advocates and Vice President of the Capitant Association, which is an association set up to develop French legal culture.
